Thank you for your comment. These don't take long. I tat a bit and put it down....only took a couple of hours. Tatting takes longer than knitting and crochet. People don't often realize the work that is involved in making a tatted item.
When I was taught to tat, I thought I was doing pretty well. I did the first half of the stitch, then the second half, then the first.......Then I looked at my friend and could only barely see her hands they were moving so fast. She also spun her own yarn. I think when we were tatting together, her teaching me, she used crochet cotton from a store, but she used to spin the most unusual stuff into yarn!
OK, I'm also posting here a picture of a beaded Christmas tree. The pattern is by Darlene Polachic in her Big Book of Tatting. This wasn't easy. I'm used to putting beads on the thread and putting them where I want them. Making a ring and then putting the bead on the picot isn't as easy.
I hope I don't get 3 versions of this 2nd posting like I got with the 1st posting.
