Life Has Been Exciting the Last Couple of Days!

I had been wondering if there was a way to protect my work from moisture, fading and staining while being acid free and leaving it flexible. I was thinking if there was something I could spray on it for that purpose, it would be a good thing. While I was at Wal Mart I picked up 2 cans in the crafts area. One said it could be used with ribbon and leave it flexible, but I don't think it said it would do everything else I was considering. The other can said acid free and non-yellowing but it is for paintings. Somehow when I got home it was the wrong can I had in my hand. I looked online anyway, going to the Krylon site and sending an email about Kamar Varnish. I am still hoping it can be used on fabric/thread and leave it flexible. If I use it on a bracelet and the bracelet can no longer be wrapped around a wrist, it wouldn't be much use. Hopefully, I'll get an answer on that.
After I was finished with that I decided it was time to try placing one item on eBay. I tried last night and for some reason the picture that I tried to upload never finished. I asked today if I have to wait for the picture to upload before going on to the description of the item. Apparently, I do. As I was working on it again today, someone came to the door. My ex-husband answered the door and was told that our son had been hit by a car. We both started getting our shoes on to run.....he was faster than I was and left saying that our son was on Maple and Vine. I thought he took his car keys, so when I was ready I hobbled over to the park, on Vine St. No one was there; the ambulance was on one corner there and they were leaving. I thought they had already left for the hospital so I hobbled back home. (I walk with a cane, so I hobble, LOL) As I was approaching home, I thought I heard my ex. It was actually a total stranger who had come to the door earlier and my ex sent him back to tell me to bring the car. I had given up and thought at least I'll be home near the phone, because Maple does not intersect with Vine, they are parallel and we live on Maple. I drove down to where this kind stranger said my son, ex and ambulance were, then followed them to the hospital. My son had actually hit the car, not the other way around. He is 9 years old, with ADHD, conduct disorder and bipolar-psychotic type. It is a lot for one young boy! He doesn't listen to rules or instructions well. Ultimately, he has bumps, bruises and scrapes with no indication of head injury or fractures. (My ex is an EMT and I used to be an RN before my car accident so we tend to think medically! LOL) Our son was discharged from the hospital and took a shower when we got home and went to bed.
With that taken care of, I got online to post my first listing on eBay! That has been an adventure, too. I tried to post yesterday but I thought that while I was waiting for a picture to upload, I could go on to the section of writing a description. Apparently, I have to upload the picture and go on to the description when that step is completed. This evening I completed the listing, my very first! I have bought through eBay before and was very excited then. I think I was even more excited today, making my first attempt to make a sale of my work other than from a couple of people where I used to live. I don't know how it will go, but I'm going to have fun with it, no matter what. I posted a 16" blue tatted necklace with white 'pearl' beads and gold coated seed beads, with a sterling silver lobster claw clasp.
My ex doesn't think anything I make will sell because it isn't 'necessary'. It's necessary to me, if only for mental stress relief- I'm making an effort to be able to make money, something I haven't been able to do since 2002! We are each equally impressed with the other!
We came back together because our son needs a lot of supervision. He's tricky. One day while I had my nose in my tatting and my ex was watching television, he quietly went into the kitchen and got the model paint the two of them were using while putting together model cars. Our son took it up to his room and painted the box spring and a bit of the carpet. We were both right there, but neither of us had a clue as to what was going on! I fell asleep on the couch once and when I woke up, he was running a tonka bulldozer or something through a pile of flour and rice on the carpet behind the recliner. I waited until the next day to think that was funny! I'll have to find those pictures and post one or two! I was very upset the day it happened, because I have a Kirby vacuum cleaner and I was out of bags and I was going to have to drive about 25 or 30 miles to Allentown to get any.
So, that is my last couple of days and I'll probably be asleep before my head hits my pillow tonight!

Have patience with ebay--you might not get any bids til the last day--hope you priced it right--low--that will lead to a 'bidding war' and the price can skyrocket. I've been selling there for quite a while and have done very good.
I don't quite understand--your 9 year old boy was driving a car? Or did I miss something? In any case glad to hear it didn't wind up worse.[THUMBUP]
