My 10 year old son has ADHD. He's been going to a "partial hospitalization program" school. Life has been difficult at our house for.....ever. I've tried to find ways to connect with him so that "we" are working on things. I want him to know that I'm doing the best I can to help him to grow up to "be the best he can be". He has wrap around services, a behavioral specialist and a therapeutic staff support person. Right now, I am "staff". We aren't sure where he will be going to school in September. I am disabled because of a car accident. That means that I am home unless we are both out together (or he is in school, but it is summer). Disability leaves me being less able to be consistant because of pain and just being worn out. The things that we do most consistantly are bedtime stories, (we will finish Chronicles of Narnia book 4 tonight and start book 5) and we are working on tatting together. I have started him with a ring. He needs practice, but has gotten 2 double stitches completed that still slide! My mom couldn't be taught and an old friend couldn't be taught but my son, Sean, (also my little hero...it has to be difficult to be Sean, with ADHD) has made his first 2 double stitches that still slide! I can't post a pic because I have to figure out why my printer/scanner won't go on.
Oh, we pray together, too! I don't know where we would be without family prayer.
