Posting a Better Picture

This is item #2 of the motif challenge.

I love new toys, like the font color change option.  OK.  It was suggested that I post pictures without using the grey cutting board, which I have used to show the size of what I am scanning.  I re-scanned the beaded  tree to show the difference when not using the grey (#3-1).  It doesn't seem to show the beading much better than on the grey.  Well, I will use it as a learning opportunity!  I re-scanned it with a white background, although it doesn't look very white.  Then I re-sized it and changed the resolution to try to sharpen it up (#3-1).  Then I re-scanned, re-sized and sharpened it (#3-3).

This is item #3:

and this is item #1:  .

Next thing I want to do is learn how to design things.  I've designed the necklaces, easy to do, just choose a size of split rings and put different beads in different places.  I also designed one doily, from adapting the first two rows of a doily that looks nothing like what I ended up with, but I'd love to learn what it takes to routinely design things other than by trial and error.

From here on out, I will put my new challenge items within the post as well as in the gallery.

    Hi Diane,
Never noticed your blog before. Good scanning job.
And I was wondering if you ever take photos of your work to post? [SMILE]

Kathyjoyful, Thank you for your compliment. I hope you liked the items as well as the scanning. I don't have a good quality camera right now, so I have to scan things for the time being. Diana

the items are real cute, Diana -[THUMBUP]
I tried to do some tatting when I was a child. But it did not last for very long. Then I learned to do a bit of crochet stitch and stuck with that for quite some years.
    [SMILE] But tatting is pretty.[THUMBUP]
